August 18

Dear OLMC School Family,

Our first all school mass this morning was wonderful.  It was so great to hear all the singing voices of the children again, and it was nice to see some parents and grandparents in the back to celebrate with us.

Our pre-solar eclipse party will be held this Sunday from 5-8 p.m. on the parking lot.  We have sold 190 dinner tickets, so we should have a nice turnout.  Your dinner includes a pair of solar eclipse viewing glasses (for Monday) a bratwurst or a hotdog, baked beans and chips, and a soda or a water. Beer will be on sale for those 21 and older.  There will be a D.J. playing music from 5-7 p.m.  Remember to wear your event T-shirt, if you purchased one.  If you didn't, and would like one, we have a few extras that will be sold that day. Students may wear them to school on spirit days or free dress days. We also have bottles of OLMC new school labeled wine. Bottles are $20, with $10 going back to the new school.  We will also sell any left-over eclipse glasses we have that day.

I'm hoping to get some more volunteers to show up this afternoon/evening to spread the last pile of mulch.  If we can get it all spread out, the children can play on it during the eclipse party.  Please bring a rake or a shovel if you can.  A big thanks to our students and parents who have helped the last two days.  It is no small feat!

For our new parents, and also as a reminder to everyone, there are two reserved parking spots in front of the yellow bar on the corner of Cherry Street and 17th St.  There is a sign that says "Reserved for Auction Winner."  If you are not the auction winner, please do not block these spots.

Finally, I know everyone is still getting back into the school routine.  Please make sure your child gets a good night's sleep and eats breakfast before coming to school.

If I don't see you at church or at the pre-eclipse party, enjoy Monday's total solar eclipse, and be safe!

Peace and blessings,

Ms. Faye Myatt
